DENVER (CBS4) – The University of Denver will host the first presidential debate of this campaign season on Wednesday night, and CBS4 will be providing special coverage that day.
At 6 p.m. on Oct. 3 CBS4 will feature a special previewing the debate. Jim Benemann and Karen Leigh will anchor the one-hour special live from the University of Denver, with special interviews and analysis previewing the debate.
Jim Lehrer of PBS NewsHour will be moderating the debate between President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney, which starts at 7 p.m.
Domestic policy is the theme of the debate. It will feature six time segment that each will last approximately 15 minutes. The topics will be as follows:
- The Economy – I - The Economy – II - The Economy – III - Health Care - The Role of Government - Governing
After the debate, CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd will do a Reality Check of the debate on CBS4 News at 10 p.m.
