DENVER (AP) – Federal prosecutors say a Colorado defense contractor has agreed to pay $1.15 million to settle allegations that it illegally got information about a competitor’s bid for two contracts.
The U.S. attorney for Colorado said Tuesday that Paragon Dynamics Inc. of Aurora was accused of getting copies of bid information from Raytheon Corp.
A news release from prosecutors didn’t say what the defense contracts were worth or what work they called for. Spokesmen for the U.S. attorney and Paragon didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.
Prosecutors allege a Paragon employee who had access to a Raytheon facility acquired drafts of Raytheon’s proposals and faxed them to the president of Paragon. Prosecutors claim the president sent the information to another corporation that was combining with Paragon to bid on a contract.
