DENVER (CBS4) – A Denver man has been formally charged in connection with the stabbing death of his wife.
Lynn Kimbrough with the district attorney’s office said Michael Burnette, 55, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder of his wife, Rebecca Knox, 49.
“The charge alleges that in the evening hours on Oct. 24, Burnette and the victim were involved in an altercation at their home and that Burnette stabbed the victim,” Kimbrough said in a statement.
Burnette is being held without bond. His next scheduled court appearance is on Friday to be advised of the charge.
